HOOD, Frederick Donald (Fred) - The passing of Frederick Donald Hood, of Prince William, NB, husband of Elizabeth (Cambers) Hood, occurred on May 9, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 27, 1936 in Cross Creek, New Brunswick, Fred was a son of the late Mowatt and Mary (Bradshaw) Hood. He was a self employed building contractor who ran Fredericton Dry Wall and Plastering Ltd. He was a past member of the Canadian Navy. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kim Walker (Kelly) of Douglas, Karen Barton of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Geoffrey and MacKenzie Walker, Megan and Nicholas Barton; four sisters, Bella Boone (Freddie) of Stanley, Helen Reilly (John) of Stanley, Shirley McKinley (Dan) of Jasper AB, Sherry Maxwell (Art) of Sussex; two brothers, Harry Hood (Marlene) of Nashwaak Bridge and Neil Hood (Linda) of Cross Creek; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Carl and Donald Hood and his granddaughter, Jordan Walker. The family will receive friends at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Norman Whitney officiating. Interment will take place at Dayton Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. A reception will follow at daughter, Kim Walker's house, Douglas, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. (InMemoriam.ca)
