In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
NORTHRUP, Malcolm Robert - passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Malcolm was the beloved son of the late Robert Northrup and Rebecca Buckingham.
He is survived by his son, Kevin, and was predeceased by his cherished wife, Sharon Northrup.
Malcolm proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years, attaining the rank of Petty Officer before retiring in 1988. Following his military career, he worked with the Commissionaires from 1990 to 1992, delivering documents for Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Malcolm loved sharing stories of his outdoor adventures. He was a man of many talents—he built the family's first home and was well known for his exceptional skill in pool and darts. Malcolm approached everything in life with quiet confidence and capable hands.
He will be remembered for his dedication, service, and enduring strength.
As per Malcolm's wishes, there will be no formal service or reception. A graveside burial will be held on June 12th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, located at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
