SMITH, Dale L. - age 89, Stillwater Lake.
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale L Smith, on April 17, 2025. He was born in East Wentworth to the late Wesley and Hattie (Graham) Smith.
He attended a one room school in East Wentworth before completing high school in Tatamagouche. He served 3 years in the army as a military policeman. He then joined the RCN where he served 22 years mostly as an aircrew observer in Shearwater. He logged nearly 2500 hours on the Sea King before retiring as a MWO in 1980. He was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his son Emile (Catherine) Kuechler; grand-daughter Gabrielle; brother Darrell; nieces Deborah (Philip) Elliott, Janice (Steve) Varner; nephew Gregory.
He was predeceased by his wife Muriel; brother Wyman; sister Mazie; nephew Kevin and niece Brenda.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Thursday April 24th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. (Arbor Memorial)
