In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CAIRNS, Gestur William - We regret to announce the passing of Gestur (Gus) William Cairns on March 5, 2015, at the Portage District General Hospital. Gus was born in Flin Flon MB on November 23, 1940.
He attended school in the MacGregor and Westbourne area and then joined the Navy for 3 years where he obtained his Boilermaker certificate. His career took him to many locations in Canada. In addition to his work, he also enjoyed the many carpentry projects he did for his family.
Predeceased by parents Elmor and Asta Cairns; brother Peter Cairns; brother-in-law Ron Roe. Left to mourn are his wife Carol; daughter Leah, son Matthew; Michael; brother Ray (Lil); sister Judy Roe; brother Barry (Shirley) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Westbourne Cemetery at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception at the Westbourne Hall.
