In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MacBETH, John Langton (Jack) - was born and raised in Winnipeg. He joined the RCN in the early 1950s like all young men from 18yrs to 20 yrs old were enlisting in the Navy & Army during the Korean War. On completion of his initial engagement of five years he took his discharge and returned to Winnipeg where he joined the Winnipeg Police Force.
After leaving the police force Jack made his way out to BC. He took up employment installing eves troughs and later worked for the City of Victoria driving trucks and municipal vehicles.
Jack enjoyed and was accomplished in both curling and golf. He was a member of the Victoria Legions Curling Team and represented BC at Kelowna for the Legion Nationals where they were runner ups. H was a Legion member for many years, holding down various portfolios - heading task committees, served as Branch President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Sargeant-at-Arms.
Jack was well regards for his leadership and dedication. He will be missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
