EDWARDS, George Havelock - Passed away at the Residential Hospice of Grey-Bruce, in Owen Sound On October 30th, 2014. George Edwards, in his 91st year. Born in Saint John, N.B., May 8, 1924, graduated from Annapolis Royal Academy and McMaster University in Hamilton. Served in The Royal Canadian Navy (WW11) Member of A.F and A.M. #137 Lodge, Meaford and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32, Meaford. Retired from the department of financial services at the University of Guelph in 1987. Beloved husband of Beryl Edwards (nee Ariss), father of Lee Dufty, Louise Prigione, John and Donald. Proud grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Doreen Edwards (nee Livingstone) in 1976, son Alan in 2008 and sister Ann in 2005. A visitation will be held at The Gardiner-Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, November 3rd from 2-4 p.m. A private family service and interment will be held in Annapolis Royal, N.S. at a later date. Private memorial services will be conducted by A.F. and A.M. Lodge #137 Meaford and The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 32, Meaford, on Monday, November 3rd at 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively.
