READY, Eric Charles - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eric on August 20, 2010. Born in Victoria, December 16, 1920. Survived by wife and best friend May, and four sons, Brian, Tom (Betty), Danny (Cathy) and Tim (Louise) and extended family, Crystal (Doug Bowman), Katherine (Steve Corris), Rob Aylesworth (Mary Murrell); 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Gerry (Yvonne) and sister Peggy and many nieces and nephews. Served in the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Navy on the Murmansk Run. Thirty-three year employee at Esquimalt Municipality. Eric and May retired to Pender Island for 30 great years at their Island Paradise on Buck Lake. Eric enjoyed lifelong passions of family, fishing, and gardening. He always had a new joke to tell even after 89 years. No flowers by request. If desired donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Memorial service and reception to be held at First Memorial Royal Oak, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27. Eric married Sarah Maude Thompson, WRCNS, on 14 Sep1945 at Victoria, BC. They later divorced.
