In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MARPLE, Robert Allen Cook (Bob) - It is with great sadness the family of Bob Marple of Spruce Grove; formerly of Fox Creek, announces his passing on Friday, May 17, 2013 in Stony Plain, AB at the age of 74. Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene; son Brett (Alison); daughters Lori (Shawn) Murray and Cheri (Jordan) Werzun. He was adored and will be greatly missed by his six grandsons and one granddaughter; Ryder, Dayton and Hudson Murray, Brock and Laramie Marple and Camryn and Colby Werzun. Bob also leaves to mourn his loss, his sister Carol Alstott; nieces and nephews Kari (Ben) Stange, Brad Peavoy, Donovan and Robin Hides; great nieces and nephews Max, Tane and Alyx Stange and Codi and Kade Peavoy. Bob was predeceased by his parents Eunice and Laurie Marple. Born in Calgary, AB, Bob later served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1956-1961. After leaving the Navy, Bob worked in the Oil Patch in Fort McMurray and Fox Creek until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed writing and publishing cowboy poetry, leatherwork, golfing, watching his grandkids in all activities and just living life to the fullest. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elk's Hall, 400 Diamond Ave, Spruce Grove, AB with Lorraine Raiwet officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in memory to the Tri- Community Light Up Your Life Society, 4405 South Park Drive, Stony Plain, AB T7Z 2M7. (The Mayerthorpe Freelancer 29 May 2013)
