Always restless, Doug turned his hand to several careers. As a young man Doug joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a successful realtor, then entrepreneur in Langley, BC. He was proud of the buildings along Broadmore Blvd in Sherwood park.

Doug was a great fan of stock car racing and; with brother Wayne in the pit, he raced on local tracks in Langley, BC. He loved the outdoors and had fond memories of goose hunts near Hanna, Alberta. He camped and paddled in Alberta and BC.

Many thanks to Dr. Zehra Vicaruddin, LPNs and HCAs for the gentle, expert care he received at Shasta Care Community.
