CALVERT, William Henry - On Friday, May 15, 1922 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, William Henry Calvert, of Matlock, Man., beloved husband of Gwen.
Bill was born in Durban, Man. in 1911, going to Flin Flon as a young man and was employed by the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. During the war he served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later former Calvert Construction Co. in Flin Flon. He was involved in many building projects throughout the north including the Arctic region with the Department of Transport. He was a member of the Winnipeg Beach Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61 and the Flin Flon B.P.O. Elks Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Larry of Vernon, B.C. and Bob and wife Day of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter Wendy Hooper and husband Ted of Shawinigan, B.C. and his grandchildren, Brook, Chrisa and Lindsey Calvert and Deena and Chris Hooper. Also surviving is one brother Sam Calvert of Langley, B.C. Bill was predeceased by his son Chris in 1971.
The family would like to thank Dr. G. Fuchs, and nursing staff and the ambulance personnel for their excellent care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Whytewold on Wednesday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Genevieve Murdoch officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire donations may be made in Bill's memory to a charity of their choice.

William served on the West Coast during his time in the Navy during the Second World War. He is buried in the Saint John's Anglican Cathedral Cemetery Winnipeg, Manitoba.
