COTTRELL, John (Jack) - on April 24, 1997 John (Jack) Cottrell passed away at the age of 78.

 

Jack was predeceased by his wife Josephine; sister Dorothy and brothers, Art and Bill. He leaves to mourn his son Doug (Debbie); daughter Linda (Duane); good friend Doris; grandchildren, Bonnie (Jeff), Tammi, Christine, Melissa, Paul and great-grandson Ryan.

 

Jack was born and raised in Winnipeg. He married Josephine in 1948 and resided for years in the West End. Jack was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Imperial Veteran Branch No. 84. He was a proud member of the legion and enjoyed the company of many good friends. Jack was in sales for many years at Eaton's, Downtown and Motor sales. Jack was a very caring man, devoting his life to his children and caring for his loving wife Jo, whom he looked after for many years at home.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.

 

Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation in our Dad's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home "Chapel in the Park" (The Winnipeg Free Press, Sunday, 27 Apr 1997)
