GOODE, Arnold Ellis - 90, of Halifax/Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Fitch Bay, Quebec, he was a son of the late Arnold Ellis Goode Sr. and Doris (Waite) (Goode) Moffat.
Arnold served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 years. He then worked as Taxi Driver and in Real Estate until his next career at HMC Dockyard as ASCO for 20 years. He was a true community volunteer, including Kiwanis Club, Dartmouth Boy and Girls Club, Scouts and Girl Guide leader, Abenaki Aquatic Club and more. He was a valued member of the Woodlawn United Church and could often be seen at the Mall with Poppies, Salvation Army Kettle, Daffodils for Cancer etc. Arnold was a man of old fashion values and morals, strongly believed in Community and helping your neighbor. Above all else, as a military man Remembrance Day was of the utmost importance and he would encourage all young and old to attend their local Ceremony. Arnold also believed your knowledge was your best asset and shared it freely with his Children and Grandson.
Surviving is his wife, Georgina (Feener), Bridgetown; son, Kevin Goode (Brenda Bechard), Dartmouth; daughter Heather (Blaine) Baxter, Bridgetown; brother, Michael (Darby) Goode, Bridgewater; grandson, Alec Ramey, Bridgewater.
In keeping with Arnold’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held with interment following in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.
