In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
PARSONS, Glenwood Leslie - It is with much emotion that we announce the passing of Glenwood Leslie Parsons. Glen will be sadly missed and always remembered by his children Lyle Parsons and Michelle Burry (Brett) and his grandchildren (Caitlyn Burry, Evan Parsons, Erika Burry, Rachel Burry). He is survived by his sisters Laura (Gord) Griersen, Carol (Bill) Tew, and Debbie (Marsh) Collins.
Glen joined the navy at a young age (17) after being in the reserves, and in his 23 years with the military, travelled many places overseas. He was very active with sports, both in the military and after. He played rugby for many years in the Navy, and was a member of the Nanaimo Hornets and a key participant building the log clubhouse. He also played and coached softball. Volunteering was important to him and Glen was active in Search & Rescue, both in Prince George and the Comox Valley. He also loved his volunteer position with the Therapeutic Riding Association, where his height was a real benefit with the kids on the horses. He instilled his love of the outdoors in his kids and grandkids, spending lots of time hiking, biking, boating and at the beach. Glen lived a long and full life and died peacefully at home with his children at his side.
There will be an informal service on Friday, June 26th at 2pm at the Comox Valley Funeral Home (1101 Ryan Rd). We welcome any friends and family that would like to gather to share stories and memories and help celebrate our dad. (The Comox Valley Record 12 Jun 2026)
