In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MILES, Leslie Alexander - resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 99 years.
Les was born February 3, 1920. He moved from Fort Saskatchewan with his family to Clairmont in 1929. He served in WWII in the Navy. He married Ella in January 1949. They farmed at the Four Mile Corner. Les moved to Pioneer Lodge in 2015.
Les enjoyed hockey, baseball, horseshoes, and music.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 70 years, Ella; children Pat Stuka, Barry (Kathy) Miles, Val (Brock) Sipe, Shane (Ina) Miles; sister Mae Vaasjo; 14 grandchildren; 14 ½ great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Shauna Lee Miles.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 1:00pm, at Clairmont United Church. (The Peace Country Sun 20 Feb 2019)
