In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DEVISON, John Fraser - Devoted husband and father. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Fraser Devison on Thursday, July 13, 2023. John was born June 23, 1935 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and in his early 20's he joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he became the Navy Feather Weight champion before going on to win the Canadian Bantam Pro Title. After he retired from boxing in 1965 he started coaching first in Halifax and then Saskatoon which remained his lifelong passion coaching into his 80's and earning him a lifetime achievement award for boxing in 2013. In addition he served with the commissionaires for over 20 years. John is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty, his children John Jr and Michelle and Grandchildren Richard and Daniel. John will be remembered for his humor, acts of kindness, love of animals and an unwavering dedication to the people and passions in his life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the S.P.C.A.
