RACINE, Joseph N. - 87, formerly of Hudson, NH died peacefully at his home in No. Ft. Myers, FL, surrounded by his family on May 17, 2009. Born in Ansonville, Ontario on November 11, 1921, Joe enlisted in the Canadian Navy, Service his country during WWII and becoming the youngest Chief Petty Officer in the history of the Canadian Navy. He married Jeannie I. Bernier on May, 8, 1945 and settled in Occum, CT, becoming a US citizen in October 1949. The had 2 children and later moved to Husdon. Joe retired from Prince Packaging in 1981, traveling the country for many years before relocating to Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, son and daughter-in- law Dennis and Connie Racine of NH, grandson Brett Racine of VT, daughter Bernice Peterson of NM, granddaughter Tammy Peterson, brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Lucienne Racine of Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Canada, Edward and Rita Bernier of CT and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Dal Tura Country Club in No. Ft. Myers on Wednesday, May, 20th. (The Timmins Daily Press 27 May 2009)
