In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
REAUME, Wayne - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Reaume, LCdr RCN (Ret.). Wayne died peacefully in his sleep, September 10th, 2008. He is survived by his daughter Trudi, his son Wayne and his son's wife Betty Ann. Wayne was born in Wallaceburg Ontario on January 16th, 1934. His remarkable life was far from ordinary and included a distinguished 38 year Canadian Naval career, a proud family and a loving 49 year marriage to Shirley Reaume. Wayne's many close friends across Canada and around the world will remember many fond memories of his years in the military, his vintage cars and his farm. Blessed with a life worth living and the support of a loving family, he was not cheated in his time here; he had his share of life - and more. No stranger to long voyages, Wayne now begins his next journey to a place where if admission is based on character, actions and accomplishments, he will be welcomed with open arms. He truly left this world a better place and those he touched will be hard pressed to forget such an exceptional man. Friends may pay respects at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Wednesday after 11:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. All friends of Wayne and his family are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Reception to commemorate his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Orleans Branch 632, at 800 Taylor Creek Drive, Orleans, Ontario, Wednesday from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m. Sail on Dad, you have filled our hearts and minds with memories of a life well lived.
