In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GARDINER, Laura - Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on January 12, 2009 in her ninety-fifth year. Laura was the daughter of Arthur and Susannah Polly Gardiner. Born December 9, 1914 and raised in Montreal. She served in the Women's Royal Canadian Navy, stationed at St. John's and Halifax during World War 2. She worked for 38 years as an elementary school teacher, she then retired and moved to Cambridge in 1976, having fondly remembered Galt from her Navy training days spent at the Old Girls School-here. Aunt Laura will be sadly missed by her cousins Barbara Lemm of Cambridge, Irene Simpson, Pat Irwin, Margaret Rae, family and Carol Pitt and her family, all of Toronto area. Cherished forever by Barbara's children Dianne, Patti, Carol and David. A Memorial Service will take place at Trinity Anglican Chapel, 12 Blair Road, Cambridge on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. In Laura's memory donations to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
