KITTSON, Don (Bud) - We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Don (Bud) Kittson. Born and raised in Victoria BC, he is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, daughter Deana, sons Michael and Mark (Jennie), and sister Heather. Xanthe, Kisa, Zev and Dexter cherished their grandfather and will miss his great humour, warmth and guidance.

Don became a member of HMCS Malahat Naval Reserve at the age of 16 and served for 6 years. He considered joining the navy like his father Bill Kittson, but after thoughtful soul searching, decided that military life was not for him. He worked at Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Breton (CFB Esquimalt) as he loved his job as a Naval Engineering Technologist. Don enjoyed working on the base where many great friendships were made over the years.

Don loved all sports, and enjoyed downhill skiing, tennis and golf, with squash being one of his favourite games to play.

Upon retirement, many hours of the day were lovingly spent looking after his yard and pool.

Don loved being with his family and his 79th birthday was celebrated with joy and love with his children, grandkids and Cheryl.

He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Our family wish to thank the hospital staff at RJH Heart Care unit, especially the wonderful nurses who provided such amazing care.

Don did not want a funeral service, but a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. (The Victoria Times Colonist 06 Sep 2026)

Don's father, William J. (Bill) Kittson, served in the RCN
