Built in Germany in 1935, she was named DONTAFF and used as a sail training vessel for the German Navy. Transferred to the RCN in 1945 was a war prize, she was re-named GRILSE and used as a sail training vessel. In 1961 she was re-named GOLDCREST when the submarine USS BURRFISH was commissioned in the RCN as HMCS GRILSE. She was removed from service in the early 1970s.
