"Our ships badge has a crimson trident in it. The trident comes from the badge of HMS Formidable, the carrier our namesake was flying off when he was killed.  The RN is building a new HMS Formidable, so the ship yard built us two red trident from hull steel of the new formidable.  We decided to keep those in the ship. But wanted to paint large ones on our hull. The crimson represents the colour of the Victoria Cross won by our namesake." - Feb 2026
