Died: 03 Jun 1947, Halifax, Nova Scotia

ALLEN, Frank George, Chief Blacksmith, 40921H, RCN, died - 03 Jun 1947, HMCS WARRIOR - son of Frank H. Allen and Loretta L. Allen, of East Saint John, NB; husband of Audrey Mae Allen, of Parrsboro.

 

Frank Allen joined the RCNVR (service # V2240) on 01 Aug 1935 at Saint John, NB. He transferred to the RCN on 01 Sep 1941. He died when the taxi he was in drove off the end of Jetty 3 in HMC Dockyard. The taxi driver managed to escape the vehicle but Frank Allen and his shipmate James Lambert, who was in the taxi with him, both drowned. He is buried in the St. George's Parish Cemetery, Parrsboro, NS.
