Died: 10 Aug 1992, Vancouver, British Columbia

 

WHELAN, Alan James (Al) - 50, Eastern Passage, died August 10, 1992, in Vancouver. Born in the United Kingdom, he immigrated to Canada in 1957. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1963, spending most of his service time in submarines. He was serving with Submarine Sea Training Group at the time of his death. He was an avid runner and member of Run Nova Scotia. He is survived by a brother, George David, London, England; an aunt. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in CFB Esquimalt, Victoria, B.C. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. August 21 in St. Brendan's Chapel, CFB Halifax. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to any charity.
