My Dad was a little young at 15 and I'm not clear on what he died but he was on the Lady Nelson assigned to kitchen duty. All he said is that he really knows his way around a potato. One story my father told me is that on one crossing a U boat stopped the ship and did a search to make sure there were all medical. I guess it was very a tense experience.  (Submitted by Mark Tunn)
