ROACH, John Lenwood - of Upper Tantallon, age 63 passed away February 8, 2020 in Hospice Halifax. Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., he was a son of George and Gertrude (Laybolt) Roach. He served 32 years in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a member of the Fairview Legion. Len was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved NASCAR racing, gardening, working on cars in his garage, travelling south with his wife, and a good cigar. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl (Arsenault); daughters, Melanie Lynn Gough (Charles), Jillian Marie Roach-Teague (Kevin); sister, Elvie Wilson (Gordon); brother, Brad (Lorraine); grandchildren, Keilan, Jaelya, Liam, Jahmiya, Kenyonn and Amelia. Predeceased by his parents, George and Gertrude; brother, Blake; and Sinclair Laybolt, who was like a brother. No visitation by request. Memorial service Thursday, February 13th at 11 a.m. in J.A. Snow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Halifax. Special thanks to Palliative Care, VG staff (cancer unit). (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 11 Feb 2020)
