Died: 067 Dec 2003, Winter Haven, Florida, USA

 

KNIGHT, Garnet Laredo - 67 years, passed away suddenly at his winter residence in winter Haven, Florida, on December 7, 2003. Formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Loving husband and best friend to Gloria (nee Power) for 42 years. Cherished father to Garnet Stormy and wife Susi (Trenton); Kelly and husband David Mickle (Amherstburg); Sherry Knight (Toronto). Devoted papa to Amber, Garnet Erich, Alex, Erin and Sarah. Predecease by his parents Garnet Sr. and Edith Knight. Dear brother to Lynn and husband Cecil; Sherry and husband Allan; Terry and wife Karen; Kim and wife Joann; Bruce and wife Lori; Kristine. Predeceased by sister Charmaine and survived by her husband Bob and predeceased by brother Morely. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Also missed by sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and Glen Laing. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass celebrating Garnet's life will be held on December 13, 2003 at St. John The Baptist Church, 225 Brock St., Amherstburg at 11:00 a.m. In kindness memorial tributes may be made to the War Amps of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. All are welcome. 

 

Garnet Knight enlisted in the RCN on 19 Oct 1953 and released on 18 Oct 1958 (engagement complete).
