Born: 11 Nov 1929, Ladysmith, Manitoba

 

Died: 12 Jan 2004, Trail, British Columbia

 

WULOWKA, Olie Ernest - of Castlegar, passed away with family by his side at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on January 12, 2004. Born November 11, 1929 in Ladysmith, Manitoba. Olie joined the Navy in 1951, retiring as a CPO2nd Class in 1979. during the time her served, Olie was in the Korean Conflict, traveled around the world and served on various ships and land bases, lastly at CFS Aldergrove. Survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean and his sons Tim and Peter all of Castlegar. Also survived by his brother Nestor and his sisters Kay Cott, Diane White, Elsie Merkley, Julie Bolen as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Memorial will be held on Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Castlegar Legion at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Blonde presiding. Burial to follow at Park Memorial Cemetery. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Cancer (Lung Research) fund, Box 3292, Castlegar, BC, as an expression of sympathy. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Service is entrusted with the arrangements.
