GAAL, Charles - It is with profound sadness that the family of Charles Gaal announces his passing in his 89th year on Tuesday October 11, 2011 at the Brantford General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Charles is survived by his loving wife of more than 65 years Joan (Morley), his daughter Barb (John Searle), son David (Laura), granddaughter's Erica and Kristen; his sisters Elizabeth Carter of Burlington and Helen O'Connor of Hamilton; his brother in law Keith (Vi) Morley of Brantford and sister in law Marg Misner of Sarnia; as well as many nieces & nephews. Charles was predeceased by his brothers Gordon, Joseph (killed in action) and Alec. Charles was a proud Canadian veteran of the WWII. He lived life to the fullest and was a member of many local organizations over the years. Friends will be received at the Dennis Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross St., Brantford on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. Funeral service held in the chapel on Friday October 14, 2011 at 2 PM. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice appreciated.

 

Charles' brother AB Joseph Stephen Gaal was killed during WW2 when HMCS CHEBOGUE was torpedoed.
