PANABAKER, Jack Leroy - Highly decorated Retired WWII Royal Canadian Navy Commander Passed away peacefully at home as per his wishes, surrounded by family on August 5th, 2017 at the age of 94. Loving husband of the late Mary (nee Brick). Beloved father of Mary Jo (Theo), Jan, Joy, Jocelyn (Mike) and Jerrainy. Admired Grandfather of Matthew (Cher), Tristen, Jessica (Paul), Stephanie (Kelly), Beth (Ryan), Ellee (Travis) and Mary-Ellen (Luke). Cherished great-grandfather to Teagan, Lily, Ellee, Alexandra, Alayna, Henry, Everly, Austin and Ferryn. Brother of the late Rose Haga, and family. Brother-in-law of the Elizabeth Daly family, the John Brick family, the Frank Brick Family, the Patterson Family, the Farrell family and Malcom Brick. Jack was a decorated war hero, an avid fisherman, a skilled gardener, a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan and an all-around generous gentleman who loved his family very much. Captain Jack will be missed by his loving family, dear friends, and caring neighbours. Family and friends will be received at The Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, ON, on August 26th, 2017 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a Navy service at 2:00pm followed by a Celebration of Jack's life. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Kingston Health Sciences Kidd 7 Neurology Department or the Peterborough Palliative Care Team at PRHC would be appreciated by the family.
