Born: 10 Apr 1931

MACAULAY, Colin Murdo - It is with deep sadness that we announce that Colin Murdo Macaulay died on May 19th, 2020 at H.J. McFarland where he was cared for with kindness and compassion. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, June and three daughters, Jane (Peter), Susan (Glenn), Sarah (Stan), four grandchildren Drew (Nat), Jan (Noushon), Liam and Natalia and his two great grandchildren, Theo and June. Colin joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1951 and while he was stationed in St. Merryn, Cornwall, England he met June Lee, a WREN in the British navy. They were married in Bath in November, 1952 and moved to Shearwater, Nova Scotia soon afterwards and following several moves settled in Picton in 1990. After completing his naval commission he became a teacher and vice-principal. A consummate gentleman, he encouraged others to be the same; inspiring them to hold themselves to higher standards, not because of possible repercussions, but because they did not want to disappoint him. Colin was universally respected for his deep intelligence, curiosity and graciousness. He had a zest for life and learning. Colin and June travelled extensively and their genuine interest and respect for people enabled them to make friends all over the world. Colin loved to hear and tell a good joke and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and his warm smile. He will missed by his many friends and especially by his family. A celebration of Colin's life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main St., Picton, ON.

Colin Macaulay joined the RCN on a SSA (02 Jan 1951 - 31 Jul 1958). On completion of his SSA on 31 Jul 1958 he transferred to the RCN(R)
