Died: 13 Feb 2012, Yuma, Arizona, USA

 

ARMITAGE, James Richard (Jim) - passed away suddenly while at his winter home in Yuma, Arizona. He will be missed forever by his wife Brenda; children Jennifer and John; grandchildren Stuart and Regan and his dog Toby. Jim served in the Navy from 1961 until 1989 retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, 2nd class, Marine Engineer "Stoker ". Jim continued to work as a civilian with the navy ships at Marine Industries Ltd., Dockyard and Shipyards. Upon retirement Jim and Brenda traveled for 6 months in their 5th wheel and then purchased a permanent place in Yuma, Arizona. Jim was devoted to his family. We have wonderful memories of our vacations in Mexico and Disneyland as well as many cruises. Jim loved to socialize with friends and family and will always be remembered for his friendliness and loving nature. We will miss your smile, your presence and your wonderful sense of humor. You will always be in our hearts. A Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Monday, February 27th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Colwood, B.C. (Victoria Times Colonist 25 Feb 2012)
