McEWAN, Henry James (Harry) - In his 93rd year, Harry McEwan passed away at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Saturday, November 28th, 2015. Cherished son of the late Murray and Elizabeth (Ross) McEwan. Beloved husband of Elva (Govier) for 68 years. Loving father of Rolfe and his wife Sue of Kelowna B.C., Clare and his wife Helen of Toronto and Brett and his wife Barb of Chatham. Special grandfather of Bryce (Lanna), Megan, Travis, Greg, Mark, Laura, Cameron (Laura), and Ross. He was a proud great grandfather of three. Predeceased by his brothers Ross and his wife Mary, and Frank and his wife Hazel. Harry was a veteran of World War II serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres of operations from 1942 - 1945. Harry was an executive financial consultant for Investors Group for forty two years. He was Past President of the Clinton Kinsmen Club, active in Chatham Minor Hockey and was the Past President of that Association. Harry was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge, Chatham Lodge of Perfection, Kent Chapter Rose Croix, Mocha Temple and Ahcom Shrine Club. As per Harry's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Distribution of the ashes will take place at a later date. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the charity of your choice.
