MILLAR, Paul Ernest - Saturday, February 20, 2021, Paul Ernest Millar, loving husband, father to two children, Grand and Great-grandfather to nine, sadly passed away at the age of 71. Paul was born on December 1, 1949 in Cambridge, Ontario to James and Laverne Millar. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a radio operator from 1967-1969 on HMCS Kootenay. From there, on February 21, 1970 he married his long-time sweetheart Beverly Doreen Millar. In 1974 he began volunteering for the Cambridge Fire Department which led to a full-time career until retirement in 2006. He also drove taxi for City Cab in Stratford for some time and made friends with everyone in town. Paul had a passion for fishing, golfing with friends, and of course music. He was a diehard Beatles fan through and through and could sing every song word for word and even tell you the album it was on and the year it came out. He was the life of every and any party and anyone that really knew him knows that to be facts. He had the ability to keep everyone laughing and his silly antics were bar none one of a kind. He enjoyed getting together with friends and reminiscing over coffee. He loved his coffee. He had the ability to play almost any instrument he picked up and play like he's played for years. He really was a music man and was known to charm his wife with his crooked grin and sly looks as he serenaded her either by guitar or ukulele. He was sure known for his quick-witted nature and kept everyone on their toes. He had the biggest heart and took pride in his family and everything that he did. Paul is preceded in death by his father James, Mother Laverne and loving wife Doreen "Doe". He is survived by his two kids, Kimberly (Rob), and Steve along with his seven grand-children Alicia (Gui), Amanda (Evan), Zachary, Derek (Emory), Lexi (Yusuf), Chase (mom Christine), Brittney and Great-grandchildren Charlie and Emilia. He is also survived by his sister Vicki Grove, niece Michelle (Paul), nephews Jim (Connie) and Brad (Kaitlin), sister-in-law Gail Turnbull, niece Debbie and nephew Scott. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Stratford Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8, R.C.L. Branch 8, Stratford (google.com) and the Heart and Stroke foundation, One-time donation - Heart & Stroke Foundation (donorportal.ca) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
