WALKER, Andrew Gordon - On Friday, March 19, 2021, Andrew Gordon Walker, a loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 95.
Gordon was born June 9, 1925, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Andrew and Annie Walker. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926, first to Swift Current, then to settle permanently in Winnipeg.

He attended public school there and joined the Naval Service at HMCS CHIPPAWA in August of 1943. He served in Escort Group 2 with HMCS BRANTFORD until the end of the war.

In 1947 he married June McKellar.

In November of 1949, Gordon began his 37-year career with the Winnipeg Post Office, retiring from Real Property Management in 1987.

He enjoyed a full and engaged life as a long-time member and vestryman of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, a founding member of both the Post Office Small Bore Rifle Club and the Postal Tournament Committee, and also found time for golf and curling. He enjoyed painting and woodwork, completing two scale models of the H.M.C.S. Brantford.

Gordon was a dedicated, supportive and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by siblings, Alex and Edna and by his wife June in 2010. He is survived by his children, Bonnie, Shelley (Kevin), Sandy (Susan), Drew (Lyn), grandchildren, Sarah (Anthony), Chase, Stefan (Chelsea), Paige and Evan, great-grandson Owen, as well as nieces and nephews.

Special gratitude to the nurses and staff of T3 North at Deer Lodge Centre for the care and compassion they showed to our father.

No service by request. Flowers gratefully declined.

A family service will be held at a future date.
