Donald Andrew (Don) Stipkala

Born: 25 Aug 1932

 

Died: 11 Jan 2013, Victoria, British Columbia

 

STIPKALA, Donald Andrew (Don) - It is with sorrow we announce that Don passed away peacefully from cancer at Sunrise Senior Living in Victoria, B.C. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 yrs. Jacqueline Marie, his brothers Tony (Donalda), Bernie (Ollie) and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norman (Betty) Thomson, Al (Marjorie) McMaster and Rosemary Thomson. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada. Don was born in Three Hills, Alberta and raised in S. Burnaby and S. E. Vancouver. He joined the Navy and served for 37 years retiring as Lieutenant (N) in the food service department at C.F.B. Comox, B.C. Don and Jacquie retired in White Rock, B.C. and then returned to Victoria last year because of ill health. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all the staff at Sunrise Senior Living for the exceptional care they gave to Don and Jacquie. No service at Don's request. Don's brother's Tony Stipkala and Bernie Stipkala also served in the RCN.
