John Bernard (Bernie) Stipkala

Born: 14 Dec 1930, Three Hills, Alberta

 

Died: 16 Oct 2018

 

STIPKALA, John Bernard (Bernie) - died after a short illness at Berwick on Shelbourne. He was predeceased by his loving wife Olga (Ollie) Stipkala nee Dutka of 64 years in May, also by youngest brother Don and Jacqueline (Jacquie) and nephew Randy. Survived by older brother, Tony (Donalda) and many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada and the US. Bernie was born in Three Hills Alberta and raised in South Burnaby and South East Vancouver. He spent many years in the Navy, along with both brothers. He was also a member of Chief and PO's Association. Bernie and Ollie were long time square and round dancers, as well as Cedar Hill golfers for many years. No service by request. (Victoria Times Colonist 12 Jan 2019)

 

Bernie served in the Navy from 27 Aug 1948 to 16 Aug 1977

 

Bernie's brothers Tony Stipkala and Don Stipkala also served in the RCN.
