Died: 13 Sep 2022, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

WILLS, Gerald Douglas (Gerry) - age 79, of Bayswater, passed away September 13, 2022 in QEII VG Site. Born in Dresden, Ontario, he was a son of the late John and Inez (Pumfrey) Wills.

 

Gerry entered the Navy and served for almost 25 years. When he retired from the Navy he went on to pursue numerous other occupations including driving for the Lieutenant Governor, and teaching for Survival Systems and the Halifax Regional Center for Education.

 

He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine (Tanner) Wills, Bayswater; daughters, Mary Ellen, Debbie, Kim (Mike) Mattison all of Halifax; Dr. Sherrie Wills (Jimmy Walker), Dartmouth; stepdaughters, Loral Williamson, Cathy (William) Williamson (Halifax); stepson, Alan (Amy) Williamson (New Glasgow); grandchildren, Lynette, Edwin, Jesse, Jorja, Aiden; step grandchildren, Chris, Brianna, Keighan, Ben, Braeden, Chloe, Kole, Davyn; great grandchild, Savanna; brother, Morley Wills (Kentville); sister in law, Ruth Wills (Ontario); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

 

He was predeceased by sister Rose Marie Engle; brother, Ernie Wills; sister in law Winnie Wills; brother in law Roger Engle; ex wife, Linda Wills.

 

Although Gerry always had his opinions, those close to him always knew that deep down he had a heart of gold. Please raise a glass in his honor.

 

Cremation has taken place. No service by request. He will be laid to rest at sea.
