Died: 06 Jan 2011, Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia

 

WIBBERLEY, Robert Borden - 80, of Dartmouth, passed away January 6, 2011, in Ocean View Manor. Born in Barrie, Ont., he was the son of the late James and Georgina (Shaw) Wibberley. He was a former Base Chief of Stadacona as well as Fleet School Chief. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Order Lodge No. 130. He was a member of the Canadian Navy for over 37 years. He loved his dogs, grandchildren, watching movies and singing. He touched the hearts of those who he had met. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Kathy Mac Laughlin), Ajax, Ont.; Dana (Carolyn), Dartmouth; daughter, Diana, Bedford; grandchildren, Christopher Moroney, Stephanie Ashley, David Wibberley, Suzanne Moroney, Michael Wibberley, Scott Wibberley and Ryan Wibberley; great-grandchild, Lyric Ashley. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances; and great-grand daughter, Brooke Ashley. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday, January 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 15 in CFB Stadacona Chapel, Gottingen St., Halifax, Rev. Charles Black officiating. Burial will take place in Heritage Oak Columbarium. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Ocean View Manor Society, 1909 Caldwell Rd., Dartmouth, NS B3G 1J3.
