David John Bright

Died: 01 Mar 2023, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

 

BRIGHT, David John K.C. - David passed away quietly surrounded by family on the morning of March 1st at the Dartmouth General Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

 

He was born into a humble family in Guelph in 1942, where he was raised by his grandmother Ada.

 

In 1959 he joined the Navy where he would eventually serve aboard HMCS BONAVENTURE as a member of 880 Squadron.

 

In 1972 he graduated from Dalhousie Law School. David became a senior partner at Boyne Clarke and had a long, distinguished career in the law.

 

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn Bright, (Taylor) his sons Michael and Christopher and daughter in law Morgyn MacLeod along with his granddaughters Tegan Bright, and Taylor Heffernan-Bright.

 

His family loved him dearly and he was devoted to them.

 

By his request there will be no funeral. His family will hold a private graveside committal. (Atlantic Funeral Homes, Dartmouth Chapel)
