REEVES, Alfred Richard - With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Alf leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Betty with whom he created an adventurous life . He is survived by his children Rick, Sue (Jake), Dave, Greg, (Yami) Frank and Kathy (Neil) and Mary; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother Ed (Lil) , many friends family and extended family. Alf is predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Alf , a WWII Veteran, was very proud to have served in the Queen's Navy which inspired his love for travel. Alf loved the outdoors, fishing and camping and travelling abroad . He never passed up a chance to express his political views, welcomed or not. He cherished family and friends and he talked at length with everyone he encountered making friends fast with his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. Gardening was one of his greatest passions and it was not unusual to find vegetables in with his flowers much to Mom's dismay! His birdhouses, painted by Mom, were scattered around their yard.

Alf conducted life with optimism, loyalty and respect. His unconditional love for family and friends will forever be remembered. The world lost a special man. Keep winking from the other side Dad!

We would like to thank Dr. Fletcher and the staff of Evergreen Baptist Care Home D2 wing for their loving and patient care of Dad. Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2016, 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion White Rock Branch #008, 2290 - 152nd Street Surrey, BC In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society British Columbia; 300 828 W. 8th Ave. Vancouver BC V5Z 1E2 or online.
