John Joseph Hodsdon (Joe) Webb

Died: 27 Aug 2023, Victoria, British Columbia

 

WEBB, John Joseph Hodsdon (Joe) - passed away at The Lodge at Broadmead on August 27, 2023. Joe was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba. Predeceased by his father Sidney Webb and mother Mary Hodsdon Webb. Adoring partners; Rose Porter (of 11 years) and Elaine Landry (of 6 years). Survived by son Wayne Webb; and daughter Bobbi-Jo Webb. Forever in Joe's heart.

 

Joe joined the Queens Own Rifles of Canada in 1963. He served for the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years as a knowledgeable cook; Army and Navy. Joe was one of the founding members and previous Presidents of The QOR V.I. Branch. Upon retirement, Joe owned and operated Sidney Adventures and Sea-Esta Boat Charters. Many great memories shared on the boat with friends/family/patrons. Joe also served for many years as a Commissionaire for The Royal BC Museum and Esquimalt Dockyard.

 

A heartfelt thank you to the doctors / innovative team of the Heart Function Clinic (both Jubilee and St. Paul's) that truly heard Joe's drive to survive and treated all that they could. A special thank you for care received over the last few years from paramedics and the staff of RJH, VGH, GRH, Broadmead Lodge, Dr. Syong and Dr. Antonsen.

 

Joe had a big heart - he volunteered, contributed to the community and was willing to help anyone. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be made to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation-Cardiac Care or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

 

Joe's loving daughter, Bobbi-Jo, devoted advocate for his strength and determination to live on…welcomes you to join in celebrating her Dad's life at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on September 16th at 2:00pm. (The Victoria Times Colonist 09 Sep 2023)
