Born: Feb 1902          Died: Apr 1967

 

ROSS, Charles Albert - Born in Feb 1902, Charles Ross joined the RCN(R) on 02 Feb 1941 and served in HMCS Barrie and HMCS Copper Cliff. He was part of the commissioning crew for HMCS Copper Cliff.  He was awarded Mention in Despatches (MID). After the war Charles went back to work for the Canadian Steamship Lines. He retired from there in December of 1966 and died at age 65 April 1967.

ROSS, Charles Albert, Chief Engine Room Artificer,  A4314, Mention in Despatches, RCNR - Awarded as per Canada Gazette of 5 June 1943 and London Gazette of 2 June 1943. 

 

"For an extended period in one of His Majesty's Canadian Corvettes, under conditions of great hardship in the North Atlantic, this rating has rendered excellent service and at all times has displayed wholehearted devotion to duty."
