JEWELL, George Edward - It is with great sadness that the family of George Edward Jewell announce his passing on January 19th, 2024 in Halifax Nova Scotia.

George was born February 8th, 1939 in London, Ontario to the late George Samuel Jewell and Gladys Kate Jewell (nee Gray). He was raised in St. Mary's Ontario until 1957, when he joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a member of the Supply Branch. He served on many ships and bases during his Naval career. He rose to the ranks of Chief Petty Officer 1st Class and took his commission in 1987. He remained in the military until his retirement in 1993.

George loved the Lord and was quite active in his church, Forest Hills Fellowship Baptist Church, Cole Harbour. He was always willing to help others whenever he could.

He was interested in the simple things in life, such as learning to play the guitar and having tea with friends. George is survived by his wife of sixty years, Beverly Jewell (nee Huskins), son Michael (Paula) Jewell, daughter Elizabeth Jewell, and grandsons Ryan, Matthew, Gabriel and Liam. Sister Catherine Henry (Bob), and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the team for the compassionate care George received on the 7A floor of the VG hospital in Halifax.
