David Wayne McDonald

Born: 10 Mar 1947

 

Died: 08 Feb 2024, Edmonton, Alberta

 

McDONALD, David Wayne  - it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, David McDonald, On February 8th at the Norwood Hospice after a short battle with cancer. He was a proud 31years veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy and a survivor of the HMCS Kootenay explosion.

 

David is survived by his brother Doug (Vivian) McDonald, long time Companion Barbara Born, children James ( Nancy) McDonald, David (Gina) McDonald, Mary (Raymond) McDonald, Ann (Detlev) Edward McDonald, Kevin (Nettie) Moore, Anita (Robert)Aubin, Hector (Jeanne) Born. 19 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren, A Nice and a Great Nice. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Vivian McDonald of Regina, his late wife Margaret Ann McDonald, son John McDonald.

 

Forever loved and always Remembered. His Cremation is in trust with Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery Edmonton Alberta. At a later date, Notice of his burial will take place. The family is sincerely grateful to the staff of Capitalcare Norwood Hospice for the care they gave our dad.

HMCS KOOTENAY - David was serving as an AB.WU onboard HMCS KOOTENAY when the explosion occurred.
