HIGNETT, Cliff - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Cliff Hignett on January 9th, 2008. Cliff was born November 15th, 1923 in Stalwart, Sask. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Joyce; his daughters Heather and Gord Ward; Fay and Bobby Bruns; and Grace and Myron Peterson; his grandchildren Leah and Russ Brummer; Mike Ward; Jason and Evey Holt; Cindy Peterson; Joyce and Rick Glasel; and great grandchildren Amanda; Jeff; Brendon; Sandy; Amy; Jodi; and Morgan. When Cliff was in the Navy he served on two ships, a Corvette and the Frigate, Strathadam. He met his future bride in Halifax and they were wed there. After their wedding they moved to Saskatchewan to his family farm where they lived for 3 years, before making their home in Maple Ridge in 1948 where they have lived ever since. He was a gentleman and a gentle man who lived with pride and dignity. His love, his honesty, and his infectious laugh and impish sense of humor will be greatly missed.
