Alphonsus Thomas (Alf) Lawton was a wireless operator with Canadian Marconi Company and, later, the Department of Transport of the Canadian Government. During WWI, he was a wireless officer with the Royal Naval Canadian Volunteer Reserve (RNCVR). He was born in Harbour Grace in 1893 to Ellen (Correy) (c.1860-1919) and John T. Lawton (1860-1961). He married Alma Hamilton Scott (1894-1973) at Port Dalhousie, ON, in June 1926.
Alf is buried in the Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, Ontario.
