LOVE, John Frederick, Sto 1c, V19486, RCNVR, MPK - 12 Jun 1942, HMS GROVE - Son of Robin and Violet Love, of Regina, Saskatchewan; husband of Mabel Patricia (née Rutter) Love and father of Deanna Love, of Sarnia, Ontario.

 

Stoker Love died when his ship, HMS GROVE, was torpedoed and sunk by two torpedoes from U77 off the northwestern coast of Egypt while accompanying a convoy to Malta. Only 60 of the crew of 170 were saved.
