HARRISON, Koree Richard - Survived by his family. Wife Amy, daughters Kassandra (Cole) and Jaidyn (Dom), brother Levi (Maddy), brother Albert Jr. As well as many family members and friends who are chosen family.

Koree was born July 14,1974 to Sheena Harrison in Vancouver BC. Together the 2 of them moved to Goldbridge BC in 1978. Koree called Goldbridge home, living in a remote community where he would find his passion for the cowboy lifestyle. He spent days on horseback exploring the beautiful scenery of Goldbridge. When Koree was 13 his brother Levi was born. Koree left Goldbridge and headed to Lillooet BC to complete high school.

In 1993 Koree enlisted in the Navy. He was assigned to HMCS Winnipeg. He served in the Navy as a Naval Electronic Sensor Operator (weapon surveillance). Koree was proud to serve for his Country and the experience was very much part of who he was as a man.

While serving Koree met a spunky, beautiful, take no BS girl and knew he had found his match. This is where the real fun began. Koree and Amy moved back to Lillooet for a couple years at which point they decided to move to Calgary. In Calgary Koree obtained his Journeyman Welding ticket which would serve him well in the years to come.

While in Alberta, Koree and Amy were excited to find out they were pregnant. TWINS! On April 11,2000 they welcomed baby girls. Kassandra and Jaidyn were now part of the adventure. One like mom, one like dad. The 4 of them were a mighty team from the get go.

The family united in marriage in August 4,2001. The Harrisons then decided to move to Fort St. John in 2002 and stayed there until 2008. In FSJ Koree was a supervisor in the Canfor mill, a paramedic and a welder.

In 2008 the family moved to 150 Mile which is where they stayed (the longest lol) raising their girls, growing roots and being closer to family. Koree worked at Gibraltar mine as welder and was a Conductor with CN rail.

In 2019 Koree and Amy left on yet another adventure to Prince Rupert, just the 2 of them. Koree worked at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital as their maintenance man.

The terrifying diagnosis in 2020 made Koree and Amy decide to move closer to treatment and their girls and resided in PG. Koree retired from work to pursue his dream job of couch coaching the Green Bay Packers. With PASSION & INTENSITY. If you know, you know…..During his retirement Koree continued to enjoy the wilderness taking time to hunt and fish and take in the beauty of nature.

Prince George is where the fight began. Koree had his girls, and his pure grit to stand up to cancer in a way that was astonishing and courageous beyond anyone’s comprehension. His team both professional and personal, held their breath many times over the 4.5 year fight. No one ever gave up or gave in.

Koree was able to get real with life. His perspective on life was changed. What matters and what doesn’t, time is not to be wasted. Say the words, do the work.

Koree’s family kicked into high gear. Amy became his lifeline. Research became her way of life. Providing support in every way. The goal was to keep her husband, the dad, the head of the family with them for as long as humanly possible. Kassandra (Cole) and Jaidyn (Dom) put their lives on pause without hesitation. Their love for their dad was the power behind his will to live. Jaidyn provided every wholesome meal he could need. Finding new recipes for his favorite desserts. She held a passion for cooking that she carried on from Grandma Sheena (Koree’s Mom). Kassandra, using her nursing degree to “kassify” situations and be the medical support. Both girls took care of their dad in a way that made his heart swell with pride. His love and admiration for Amy would bring tears to his eyes, she held all the pieces together in every situation, for the love of her precious family.

Koree was a presence. His friendships meant the world to him. He made friends wherever he went and every person would consider him to be their best friend. He challenged life, took the bull by the horns and will forever be remembered for his passion for life, his love for his people and his infections laugh. His toothless smile that brough big smile to everyone who was lucky enough to know him, if even for a short time.

Koree left peacefully at 20:15 on July 6th knowing HIS girls were in good hands.

The family would like to thank Aspen Medical Clinic and Prince George Hospice House for their unwavering support. Thank you to friends and extended family for showering love and heartfelt condolences. (Fraserview Crematorium & Fraserview Crematorium – Cemetery Niches)
