In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ROBINSON, Gordon Barclay - It is with deep sadness, and gratitude for a long life well lived, that the family shares the loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. The eldest son of Ruth (Seely) and Barclay Robinson, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Ian and David. He is survived by his son, Andrew, and daughter, Gillian (granddaughter, Kyrie), from his marriage to Elizabeth (Oughton). As well as his beloved wife of more than 57 years, Andrea (Robison); their daughter, Jennifer; and grandchildren, Josh, Jake, Jordan, and Julia. Gordon earned his Bachelor of Engineering from Queen's University in 1958, remaining a loyal alumnus. He also served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He later received his PhD from Cornell University. His experience included work in molecular biology with a Nobel Laureate in medicine, isotope production at Atomic Energy at Canada's Chalk River laboratories, and research and corporate development at Mobil Chemical in New York. Later on, he joined a new merchant bank focused on emerging technologies. A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Church Deer Park, Toronto, on May 23, 2026, from 3–5 p.m. Please join us in sharing stories and memories of Gordon. (The Globe and Mail 14 Mar 2026)
