ROWE, Frederick Edward, LS, 2719, RCN, MPK - 22 Oct 1940, HMCS MARGAREE - Son of Edward Alonzo Rowe and Lillian Mae Rowe, of Halifax, Nova Scotia; husband of Rita Winnifred Rowe, of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Leading Seaman Rowe died when his ship, HMCS MARGAREE, was struck by the freighter SS Port Fairy while in convoy and was sunk. 143 of her crew were lost, 86 of them were survivors of HMCS FRASER.
Frederick's father, Edward Alonzo Rowe, 40305, Officers Cook, also served in the RCN.
